Stop the Smoke Smell

removing smoke odorAnyone who smokes or even knows a smoker can attest to the amazing ability for smoke odor to attach to clothes, furniture and anything else. It can be a constant struggle to try to find effective methods for removing smoke odor. As someone with years of experience covering up and eliminating smoke odors, I have some helpful tips.

The best way to remove odors at home is by utilizing an air purifier. This will actually work to eliminate the odor causing particles instead of just covering them up. For removing odors from your clothing, opt for a clean smelling linen spray instead of strong cologne or body spray. The linen spray will simply give the aroma of clean clothes, as opposed to the obvious cover-up from a dousing of cologne.

Cats vs. Dogs

cat urine smell

One of the classic debates in America is whether dogs or cats make the better pets. As a person who has experience owning both animals, I feel like I have the authority to make a stand in this dispute. Although I love my dog, it seems to me that cats make the superior pet.

Unlike dogs that bark and constantly need to go outside, cats are generally laidback and low maintenance. In my last house we were not supposed to have any pets, but we were still able to keep a cat without being detected. Many people claim that the cat urine smell will ruin a house, but cats are better trained than dogs and keep their odors confined to the litter box in my experience.

Clearing the Air in a New Apartment

My wife and I moved into a spacious new apartment about a month ago. In all honesty, new isn’t exactly the best way to describe the place. It has a certain antique charm that we were looking for, and the location is perfect – just above a quiet downtown deli. When I walk out onto the balcony, I can smell the Dijon mustard wafting up from some satisfied customer’s plate. Back inside, though, the smell isn’t so appealing.

The previous tenant was clearly a smoker because the entire interior is enveloped in a shroud of stale cigarette odor. We haven’t been able to entertain guests yet because of it. A friend recommended that we install an air purifier for cigarette smoke removal. Just a few days in, the product is already working wonders. It’s refreshing to rent an apartment that smells good inside and out.

Remove Skunk Smell

Have you ever had your dog tangle with a skunk and get sprayed? Well I’m sure that if that has happened to you, you prabably thought about how in the world am I going to remove that skunk smell from my dog? I’m sure that many of us have used tomato sauce to wash the dog in.

Just last year at my mothers place, my sister’s two dogs were outside playing around the house. At dusk, a skunk came walking up to the house and one of the dogs went to chase the skunk away. The dog succeeded but the skunk got revenge and sprayed the dog. Wondering what happened, the dog came into the garage where we were at and crawled under the car. Now not only did the dog smell horrific, but so did the garage floor.

We took the dog outside and washed the dog with tomato sauce-twice. It was a major improvement but both the dog and the floor still had a very unpleasant odor. My mother asked me to go home and get my air purifier and set it up in her garage. I did that and we left the dog in the garage over night with the machine running.

By morning, the dog did not have any noticeable odor left but the floor still had an unpleasant odor. We left the purifier running for another day and then… we checked out the garage. Wow! The garage did not smell any more of skunk smell. My family were now believers that the air purifier from my home works to remove skunk smell. Everyone was relieved to have that awful smell gone.

Next time our dog gets sprayed by a skunk, we won’t wounder how we are going to remove the skunk smell. We’ll get — the purifier.
