Determined to Overcome Detergent Allergies

I’ve always been susceptible to topical allergies. For years I struggled to find a laundry detergent that wouldn’t give me hives upon contact with my skin. I would switch detergents and believe that I had found a solution until a month or two later when the symptoms would return with intense ferocity. In time it became clear that I would either have to buy new clothes constantly – not an option for obvious financial reasons – for find a new way to do my laundry.

That’s when I discovered an environmentally friendly laundry unit that’s even more effective than traditional washers. The eco-conscious aspect of the machine was appealing, of course, but I was more enthusiastic about its claims of washing clothes without any detergent whatsoever. I was skeptical at first, but the claims proved to be true. I haven’t had to deal with itchy, unsightly hives in more than a year.

Air Purifier Gets Rid of Cat Urine Smell

A Short time ago, a gentleman approached me about an odor in the apartment that he had just rented for his family. He mentioned about the smell in one of the bedrooms which he thought was cat urine. He figured that the tenants left their cat locked in the bedroom when they would be gone for a while.

The son who’s room it was now was quite dissatisfied by the odor and when the renter discussed the issue with the landlord she was not willing to change the carpet but recommended that they spray it down with something. After trying that twice, the odor was still there. The son’s clothes also picked up some of the smell too. He asked me, can you do anything to help me? To which I responded “I believe I can.”

We ran a small home air purifier in the room for three days. No cat urine smell could be detected any more unless you put your nose right down to the carpet. After a few more days, the smell was totally gone. The boy was very happy and the rest of the apartment also had a fresher smell to it as well. So the whole family was very happy about their experience with the air purifier.

Not Every air purifier will get rid of odors. Some of them only reduce the particulaltes in the air. So if your are wanting to get rid of odors, make sure that you get the technology that also eliminates odors. No longer did this family regret living in the apartment because the air purifier they purchased got rid of the cat urine smell.

A Closer Look at Purifying Power

Air purifiers come in many shapes and sizes, and some pack more power than others. A small bedroom requires less filtering power than a large living room. In order to gauge the performance of a given purifier, pay close attention to the Clean Air Delivery Rate, or CADR. This measurement notifies consumers of the amount of air that purifier can filter per minute.

As a general guideline, you should select the best air purifiers by plugging your room’s square footage into a helpful equation. Simply multiply it by 0.75, and the result will show you the optimal CADR rating. It’s obviously better to have to much power than not enough. In any case, a home air purifier will help to rid the internal environment of contaminants such as pollen, dust and cigarette smoke.
